George Ludwig Coffenberger (Kauffenberger) was born about 1717 in Germany.

George Ludwig Coffenberger married Katrina Kimmel in Germany. He was a noted German clergyman of the Baptist order and by trade a sickle maker. He and his family migrated to America on the ship St. Andrew. Travelling from Rotterdam by way of Cowes and arriving in Philadelphia on 14 Sep 1751.

George Ludwig & Katrina Kimmel Coffenberger had eight children:
Mary, Elizabeth, Nancy, Sarah, Frances, Jacob Lewis, Katherine, & George Lewis Coffenberger

George Ludwig Coffenberger performed patriotic service by furnishing supplies in the war effort during the Revolutionary War.

George Ludwig Coffenberger and his family settled in the 1750's in Martinsburg, Berkeley County, (W)VA where he passed away on 8 Mar 1813, at the age of 94. He is believed to be buried at the Old German Lutheran Reformed Cemetery, Martinsburg, Berkeley County, (W)VA.
