Abraham Redgrave was born on 20 February 1755 in Kent County, Maryland, the son of Joseph Redgrave and Elizabeth Corse.
He married Frances Smith, daughter of John Smith and Hannah. After her death, he married a second time to Anna Holliday, the daughter of Richard Holliday and Ann Johns. He had two known children: Sarah and Susannah H.
During the American Revolution, he served in 1778 as a Private in the Maryland Militia of Kent County, under Captain John Day of the 27th Battalion. In 1783, he paid a supply tax in the 5th District of Kent County to aid the war effort.
The Patriot died before March 1804 in Kent County, Delaware, his place of burial is unknown.
