Philip Rahn (15 Dec 1757 PA – 6 Mar 1837 Adams Co, PA)
Philip Rahn was born 15 Dec 1757 in PA. He was the son of Jacob Rahn d. 1805. He married Catherine. He had thirteen children: Susanna, Philip, Sarah, Adam, Elizabeth, Catherine, Anna Mary, Magdalena, Rebecca, Rachel, Johannes, Isaac, and William. He died 6 Mar 1837 in Adams Co, PA. His patriotic service included MS - Private in PA Mil in York Co, PA. He served as Private in 1776 for six months in the Flying Camp in Captain George May's Company, Colonel Holler's Regiment. He enlisted again in 1777 and served two months in Captain Charles Crouse's Company, Colonel Hunter's Pennsylvania Regiment. Was in the Battle of Brandywine. In 1778 or 1779 served two tours of two months each in Captain Charles Crouse's Company. He was allowed pension on his application executed August 27, 1832 at which time he was living at Conewago township, Adams County, Pennsylvania, age 75 years. Buried at Christ Ref. Patriot biographies must be the original work of the author, and work submitted must not belong to another person or group, in observance with copyright law. Patriot biographies are to be written in complete sentences, follow the established rules of grammar, syntax and punctuation, be free of typographical errors, and follow a narrative format. The narrative should unfold in a logical manner (e.g. the narrative does not jump from time period to time period) or have repeated digressions, or tell the history of the patriot's line from the patriot ancestor to the author. The thinking here is that this is a patriot biography, not a lineage report or a kinship determination project or other report published in a genealogy journal. The biography should discuss the qualifying service (military, patriotic, civil) of the patriot ancestor, where the service was rendered, whether this was a specific state or Continental service, as well as significant events (as determined by the author) of the patriot's life. This is the entire purpose of a patriot's biography.
