Sedgwick James was born bef 1756 in Harford Co, MD. He was the son of Richard James and Miss Sedgewick. He married Sarah Richardson dau. of Samuel Richardson d. 1805 and Sarah Davis. He had nine children: Sarah, Rachel, Sedgwick, Ann, Mary, Elizabeth, John, Samuel and unknown. He died abt 1825 in Harford Co, MD. His patriotic service included MS - Ensign MD Mil and Oath in Harford Co, MD. He served as Private from 1775-1778 then Ensign in Harford Co MD Mil in 1778 and Signing an Oath of Allegiance in 1776 and 1778. Buried at unknown location
