Stephen I. K. Smith (aka Justephenica Smith) was born before Apr. 2, 1703, in Gloucester Co., Virginia, probable son of Charles and Grace (Sawyer) Smith. In 1737, he moved to Orange Co., Virginia. During the American Revolution, he was a supplier of provisions, in Orange Co., Virginia. Prior to 1730, he married Mary (?) Hawkins. Stephen had at least six children:

  1. Charles (1730-1829).
  2. William (ca 1732-).
  3. John (ca 1734-).
  4. James (ca 1736-).
  5. Grace (ca 1739-).
  6. Sarah (ca 1741-).

He died before May 27, 1784, in Orange Co., Virginia.
