William Blackiston Rasin was born abt 1760 in Kent Co, MD. He was the son of John Rasin d. 1761 and Rosamond Blackiston. He married Martha Wroth widow of William Apsley, dau of Kinvin Wroth Jr. d. 1786 and Frances Beck. He had four children: Philip Reed, Cyrus B., Rachel, and Nancy Ann. He died abt Aug 1810 in Worton, Kent Co, MD.  His patriotic service included MS - Private, Corporal, Sergeant, Ensign, 2nd Lt., Capt. in MD Line in Kent Co, MD in Capt. for Chester Hundred Light Infantry, Capt. of Kent Co Militia June 18, 1794 The Maryland Line in the Rev. War by Rieman Steuart 1969 p 121 William Raisin Enlisted Jan. 10 1777 Corpl., Sergeant 5th regt. Feb 12, 1779, 2nd lieut. 5th regt. Jan 26 1780, transferred to 1st regt. Jan 1 1781, retired Apr 12 1783. Returned to service as Capt. by 1788. Retired in 1807 Was in Battles at Camden, Eutaw and Cowpens.
