Located about three miles off SR125 on Vaughn Ridge Road on Orval Grooms Farm. Only one marker is left from the two. The old Piatt homestead once stood next door to this farm. The Adams Co history states that the Revolutionary War soldier Benjamin Piatt was probably buried in the Trotter Cemetery near West Union. The Piatt family married into the Trotter family.

PIATT, BENJAMIN, born in 1763 in Virginia to father Jacob Piatt (1725-1784). He served as a 1st Lt in the Revolutionary War under McCullough. He Married Polly Waddle; Children : Sarah b. 1811, Benjamin, Margaret, John b. 1803, Jacob, Elizabeth, Polly. He Died near West Union in 1851 and Buried Trotter Cemetery, West Union,  Adams Co., OH. Fur infor Sycamore Chap.  Revolutionary War Graves Register. Clovis H. Brakebill, compiler. 672pp. SAR. 1993. Also SAR Revolutionary War Graves Register CD. Progeny Publishing Co: Buffalo, NY,1998.   No Stone.
