Baltzer Oberkirsh served as a Militia man 3rd Class in the 7th Company, 2nd Battalion, Lancaster County, Pennsylvania Militia.

He married Maria Margaret Federhaf and they had the following children—

George (Overcash) (May 29, 1787-May 23, 1871) married Elizabeth Layton

Susannah (Overkirsh) (March 1790-Dec. 14, 1846) married Samuel Whitmore
