James Bradford was born 1 Jan 1754.

James Bradford married Barbara Yoho about 1781 in Whiteley, Greene County, PA.

James & Barbara Yoho Bradford had ten children:
Mary, John, Robert, James, Jacob, Henry, William, Margaret, Barbara, and Ann Bradford.[1) Mary (1783-1870); 2) son, Robert (1790-1857); and 3) James, Junr. (1796-1861) m. Mary Dye by 1828, PA]

James Bradford served in the Revolutionary War as a Private First Class in the Pennsylvania Militia, First Battalion, Washington County, PA, in the company commanded by CPT James Archer. The company was recruited in the vicinity of Fort Jackson (Waynesburg), PA.  His service was in 1782 or 1783. (Penna. Archives, Series VI, Vol.2, pp.17-18)

Died 18 Apr 1822 at age 68 years, 3 months,18 days - buried in Bradford Family Cemetery located the land patented in 1790 by James Bradford known as "Long Hill" and is located on Bradford Run, a tributary of Dyer's Fork of Whiteley Creek, Whiteley Twp, Greene County, Pennsylvania

The Bradford family is of English descent and came to Brownsville, Fayette County, PA from Northern Ireland in 1774, making James twenty years of age when the family arrived in America.
