Directions to Cemetery / Gravesite:
  • Old Presbyterian Church Cemetery is part of the Quaker Cemetery properties. From the intersection of Broad St (Hwy 601) and DeKalb St (Hwy 1), take Broad St south for roughly .85 miles to Meeting Street on the right. Take meeting St for roughly .1 miles to the cemetery on the left. The cemetery has a brick lattice fence at the road with an iron gate. The main portion of the Quaker Cemetery is further down the road. The Revolutionary War Park is a part of the Old Presbyterian Cemetery
  • Entering the cemetery through the iron gate near the road, bear right towards the flagpole. The Revolutionary War markers are in front of the flagpole. John Martin is in the first row and is the first on the left. It is a modern, flat-type stone

Patriot biographies must be the original work of the author, and work submitted must not belong to another person or group, in observance with copyright law. Patriot biographies are to be written in complete sentences, follow the established rules of grammar, syntax and punctuation, be free of typographical errors, and follow a narrative format. The narrative should unfold in a logical manner (e.g. the narrative does not jump from time period to time period) or have repeated digressions, or tell the history of the patriot's line from the patriot ancestor to the author. The biography should discuss the qualifying service (military, patriotic, civil) of the patriot ancestor, where the service was rendered, whether this was a specific state or Continental service, as well as significant events (as determined by the author) of the patriot's life.
