Author: Donald L Kaus

Nathan Lamb (4) Ebenezer (3) Thomas (2) John (1) was born 1740 in Hopkinton, Rhode Island.  During Manhood he removed to Ashford, Connecticut where he was in the 1790 U. S. Census.

Nathan married first Lydia Plumber born 1743, died 10Aug1771.  He married second Abiah Preston at Westford, CT on 08Apr1772.  Abiah was born 01Nov1749 and died 24Apr1816 age 67 (G.S.).  Nathan died 10Aug1812 age 72 (G.S).

There children are listed as: Joseph (1763), Nathan Jr (1766), Lydia (1768), Ebenezer (1770), Sally (abt 1773), Stephen (1776), Polly (1781), Parmelia (1783), and Abiah (abt 1783).

Nathan and Abiah are buried in the Westford Hills Cemetery near Ashford, CT.  Their headstones were very tall and unfortunately are both broken off near the base.  The inscriptions were recorded and then the top part of the headstones were propped up against their foundations and filled in with soil to support them.   A bronze grave marker was added to identify Nathan’s service to our country during the Revolutionary War.

Send a biographical sketch of your patriot!

Patriot biographies must be the original work of the author, and work submitted must not belong to another person or group, in observance with copyright law. Patriot biographies are to be written in complete sentences, follow the established rules of grammar, syntax and punctuation, be free of typographical errors, and follow a narrative format. The narrative should unfold in a logical manner (e.g. the narrative does not jump from time period to time period) or have repeated digressions, or tell the history of the patriot's line from the patriot ancestor to the author. The thinking here is that this is a patriot biography, not a lineage report or a kinship determination project or other report published in a genealogy journal. The biography should discuss the qualifying service (military, patriotic, civil) of the patriot ancestor, where the service was rendered, whether this was a specific state or Continental service, as well as significant events (as determined by the author) of the patriot's life. This is the entire purpose of a patriot's biography.
