  • Levi Baldock's grave stone has not been located, hower at the time of this report, it has been reported a new stone has been added for Levi Baldock in the South Fork Baptist Church. His wife Ann, is buried in the South Fork Batist Cemetery with a new stone with references to her husband, Levi Baldock. Other Baldock's are buried in this cemetery. The location of the cemetery and church was donated to the church by the Baldock family

Levi Baldock was the son of Richard Baldock of Middlesex England who migrated to America in 1741 at the age of 21.  He married Elizabeth Clarkson and settled in Orange County, VA where his son, Levi, was born in 1744.

Levi married Anne (Foster) Robins in Orange County, VA.  They were living in Orange County and Amherst County until 1783. In 1790 they are found in Lincoln County, KY. 

Levi and Anne were the parents of 8 children:

 1) Richard, born 1764 in Virginia; died after 1841 in Monroe County, KY

 2) James, born 1765 in Virginia; died 1808 in Garrard County, KY; married Betsy Hogan

 3) Ruben, born 1767 in Orange County, VA; died 1848 in Casey County, KY; married Elizabeth        Pendleton

 4) Levi Jr., born 1770 in Virginia; died in Barren County, KY; married Sallie Edwards

 5) Tabitha, born 1772 ; died after 1850 in Simpson County, KY; married Rev. Richard              Shackelford

 6) William B., born 1781 in Orange County, VA; died 1870 in Casey County, KY; married               Sarah “Sally” Penick

 7) Sarah, born 1784 in Virginia; died before 1828 in Kentucky; married James Sweeney

 8) Elizabeth, born 1785 in Virginia; died between 1850-1860 ; married James Cox Shackelford

Levi was a Baptist minister and farmer.  He was almost 40 years old at the time of the American Revolution and his Patriotic Service consisted of supplying supplies and provisions to the Continental Forces.  His DAR Ancestor number is A-131533.

He died in 1808 in Lincoln County, KY (now Casey County) and is buried near Drakes Creek.  Anne died 29 Jun 1833 and is buried in the South Fork Baptist Church Cemetery in Casey County.
