Born on September 23, 1754 in Hill Township, Bucks County, Pennsylvania to parents John and Letitia Jones Leedom. He served in the 6th Pennsylvania Regiment, Sergeant Thomas Leedom was in Capt Jacob Humphrey's Company of the Sixth Pennsylvania Line Regiment He served for two years and was discharged on 8 April 1780. He married 1) Mary Smith (_-1790) in 1785, 2) Hannah Humphrey; children: Mary Polly b. 1785, Letty b. 1789, Thomas b. 1790, Jan. b. 1812 and Martha. Thomas Leedom lived in Bucks County, Pennsylvania, until the end of the Revolutionary War and Mary Smith Leedom died in 1790. Then, he moved near Redstone Fort in Washington County, Pennsylvania, where his parents had gone earlier. Some of the members of this family moved to Harrison County, Ohio, where the Lafferty family had settled. It is not clear whether Thomas and Hannah went to Harrison County and then to Muskingum County or whether they moved directly to Muskingum County. He received a pension when living in Muskingum County, Ohio, starting 4 March 1831, Pension number S4578. He died at 84 years of age on January 18, 1840 in Muskingum County and buried there as well.
