Michael Troyer, Jr. (TY-2) was born in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania on September 4, 1754 to Michael Troyer, Sr. (TY) and his wife Magdalena Mast (MS-13). His father died around 1807 in Somerset County, Pennsylvania and his mother died in Holmes County, Ohio in 1827.
Michael Troyer, Jr. had five siblings all of which were born in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania:
1. John, born February 3, 1753 and died February 28, 1842 (TY-1), married Veronica Yoder? (YR-231). He moved to Norfolk County, Ontario, Canada.
2. Christian (TY-3) who was born May 18, 1756 and died in York County, Ontario, Canada on July 20, 1839, married Barbara Yoder (b. 1756 in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania)(YR-232) and then Elizabeth Becker (b. 1776).
3. Barbara (TY-4) was born on January 31, 1758 and died before 1850. She was married first to Henry Jacob Rhoads and then to Peter Sipe (SI).

Michael’s brothers John and Christian moved to Ontario, Canada. His sisters likely all moved west to Bedford County (now Somerset County), Pennsylvania when their father and Michael Jr. moved there sometime before 1781. Barbara Sipe was living in Elk Lick Township, Somerset County, Pennsylvania in 1800 and Magdalena Yoder was residing in Stonycreek Township, Somerset County, Pennsylvania in 1800.

Send a biographical sketch of your patriot!

Patriot biographies must be the original work of the author, and work submitted must not belong to another person or group, in observance with copyright law. Patriot biographies are to be written in complete sentences, follow the established rules of grammar, syntax and punctuation, be free of typographical errors, and follow a narrative format. The narrative should unfold in a logical manner (e.g. the narrative does not jump from time period to time period) or have repeated digressions, or tell the history of the patriot's line from the patriot ancestor to the author. The thinking here is that this is a patriot biography, not a lineage report or a kinship determination project or other report published in a genealogy journal. The biography should discuss the qualifying service (military, patriotic, civil) of the patriot ancestor, where the service was rendered, whether this was a specific state or Continental service, as well as significant events (as determined by the author) of the patriot's life. This is the entire purpose of a patriot's biography.
