Eva Regina (Karsnitz) Battorff was born about 1725, the daughter of Johannes and Euphrosina Karsnitz. In 1744 she married Christian Battorff (1724-1781) and together they raised a large family of eleven children all born in what is now Bethel Twp., Berks County, PA. Her children were Christian, Maria Elizabeth, Christopher, Catharina, Johannes (died young), Anna Regina, Eva, Johannes, Maria Barbara, Christina, Elizabeth and Benjamin. Her husband was a farmer his entire life and he died May 16, 1781 probably on the family homestead in Bethel Twp., Berks County, PA. ` Christian paid the Supply Tax in 1779 and 1780 in Bethel Twp., Berks County, PA. As a widow Regina paid the Supply Tax in 1781. It is not known when Regina died however two of her sons paid taxes in 1784 and 1785 on the family property.
