Robert Newton was born 1740 in St Annes, Essex, Virginia and was on the Taxpayers List in 1782 in Mecklenburg Co., VA, owning 600 Ac. (1-male, 5- slaves, 3- horses). He married Mildred (Milly) Wilkins first then Mary (Polly) Bailey Read on 08 Sep 1788 in St James Parish, Mecklenburg, Virginia. They had 12 children in Mecklenburg Co., VA.
During the Revolution he gave 550 cwt Beef for Continental Army use on 09 Apr 1782.
In 1783 he was the Executor to Henry Newton's will along with his wife, Sarah Newton He sold to James H. Newton, his son, for $1.00, 90 Ac. on Little Buffalo Creek, Meck. Co. in 1804 His death came in 1814 in St James Parish, Mecklenburg, Virginia, with no Will. Then his Division of Estate land (410 Ac.) on both sides of Little Buffalo Creek was made to his 11 children. On order of the "worshipful Court of Mecklenburg County," bearing date 19 Dec 1814, the lands and slaves were divided. Other belongings listed and accounts satisfied 1813-1815. Some included: sale of negroes, 2-5 gallons whiskey, 1 quart Brandy, 5 gills whiskey.

This is the entire purpose of a patriot's biography.
