The cemetery is located on the southeast corner of the intersection of Sandbar Road (County Road 16) and Township Road 2402. The cemetery was established in 1845 and is 1.31 acres in size. The cemetery is located in Franklin Township, Monroe County, Ohio




Author: Michael B. GUnn
Born on April 10, 1765 in Bucks County, Pennsylvania. He served as a Private with the Washington Co., PA Militia, enlisting in spring of 1781 for 6 months under Captain Benjamin Rice, Lieutenant Joseph Case under Major Charles Cracraft and Colonel McLary at Fort Liney on the head of Ten Mile Creek to defend the frontier. He married 1) Sarah Lindley(1762-1833), 2) Elizabeth Hines (1779-1861); children: Eunice, Elvira and John. Widow was pensioned Ref. W2405 after application August 31, 1853 in Monroe County, OH. He died on January 6, 1847 and buried at Sutherland Methodist Cemetery, 43358 Sandbar Road, Stafford, Franklin Township, Monroe County, OH 43784.
