Henry Woody born circa 1736 IN Goochland County, Virginia to John Woody. Henry Woody and Susannah Martin were married by Reverend William Douglas on 13 January 1761 at Dover Church, Saint James Northam Parish in Goochland County, Virginia. Their marriage was blessed with nine known children: Martin, John, Randolph, Wyatt, Judy Davis, Susannah Robertson, Rebecca Whitworth, Polly Bozzel, and Henry Jr. Henry Woody is recorded in Bedford County, Virginia records for a deadly encounter with Indians on 9 May 1758. Henry Woody served as a Corporal in Captain William Lewis Company, 1st Virginia Regiment under the Colonel James Hendricks. He died 7 December 1807 and is buried in a family cemetery on Hansford Adkins’ farm in Franklin County, Virginia.
