Author: John Robinson Hundley III
Lydia Lewis Kirkpatrick was born in 1742 in New Jersey, the daughter of Samuel Lewis. She married Patriot John Kirkpatrick in 1759 in Somerset, New Jersey. Lydia Lewis Kirkpatrick made bandages to bind the feet of soldiers who lacked adequate shoes by tearing-up linen bed sheets and also made salve and provided cattle. She died before February 15, 1832 and is buried in Warren County, New Jersey.
