  2. Legg, Levi, Upton. Sergeant, Capt Stephen Sadler's co. Colonel Wheelock's regt., which marched April 20, 1775, in response to the alarm of April 19, 1775, to Roxbury; service, 5 days
  3. Legg, Levi. Receipt for mileage, rations, etc., dated Upton, March 25, 1777, signed by said Legg and others belonging to Capt Gershom Nelson's co., " who went from Upton;" also, order on Henry Gardner, Treasurer, payable to Colonel Ezra Wood, dated Upton, May 2, 1777, signed by said Legg and others, for wages for service in Capt Gershom Nelson's co., Colonel Whitney's regt

Levi Legg is the son of William and Hannah Nelson Legg. He was born November 7, 1744 in Mendon, Worcester, Mass. Levi had four brothers and 2 sisters. Levi married Mary Beal on December 3, 1767 in Milford, Worcester, Mass. They had 2 known children Ruth Legg born September 27, 1767 and Eunice Legg born Abt. 1777 in Mass.
Levi remarried on April 8, 1813 to Mrs. Lucy Knowlton in Upton, Worcester, Mass.

Probate records of April 3, 1829 held in Mendon, Mass. His probate record states that the bulk of his estate goes to his wife Lucy. Levi’s daughter Ruth Sumner wife of Joseph Sumner receives 1 dollar. Daughter Eunice Jones wife of David Jones also receives 1 dollar.

Levi enrolled in the 4th Mendon Company that marched from Mendon to Roxbury on the 19th of April 1775. Levi’s uncle Gershom Nelson was their Captain. Also in the 4th Mendon Company were 2 of his brothers David and Gershom Legg.

Levi is buried in Pine Grove Cemetery in Upton, Worcester, Mass. He is in section 2 row 14 and the stone reads; Mr. Levi Legg, March 16, 1829, 84 yrs
