Author: John Leslie Ruble
Richard Lamb was born before 1742 in Orange Co., VA, and died about February 2, 1828 in Albemarle Co., VA.

He was married abt 1766 and his wife died about 1802 in Albemarle Co., VA. Richard and his wife had eight children (Thomas, Nancy, Elizabeth, Matthew, Sarah, Anne, Jeannette, and Polly).

One of Richards’s daughters, Elizabeth, married Patriot Thomas Shifflett.

Richard provided in October 1781 150 pounds of beef to the militia. Record of his giving is found in Virginia ‘Publick’ Claims Orange County compiled and transcribed by Janice L. Abercrombie and Richard Slatten, which were copied from original Revolutionary Claims in the Library of Virginia.
