1778, he served as a Private in the company of Captain Israel Ward (no relationship) and Captains Bates and Munson, commanded by Colonel David Seeley of New Jersey

Private in the NJ militia, CAPTS WARD, BATES, MUNSON; COL SEELY
Born on May 4, 1763 in Chatham, Morris County, New Jersey. He was a Private in the classified militia and served in several tours of duty in guarding the line, patrolling the country at or near Morristown. He was in the battles of Connecticut Farms and Springfield and other skirmishes.
He Died June 1846. Buried at Laurel Cemetery, 5915 Roe Street, in Madisonville, Cincinnati, OH.
In 1811 he moved to Madisonville, Hamilton County, Ohio, and later received a pension there. His wife was Sarah Cook.
