Author: Dwayne Meyer
Birth: 28 Oct 1761 in Cumberland County Pennsylvania
Death: 22 Apr 1832 in Livonia, Washington County, Indiana.
Adam Wible came to Kentucky in 1780 as one of the members of the William Baird expedition and was one of the original thirty-three founders of Bardstown.
He served in “Col Coxes Rigement” of Melita of Jefferson County Virginia (Kentucky) and was paid for actual service at Fort Nelson.
Between the years of 1785, 1786, 1787, Adam appears under the tithes of John Wible or Joseph Connaway. For the years 1790 to 1810 Adam appears under his own name on the tithe and census lists for Nelson County Kentucky.
On September 8, 1813 Adam Wible filed 2 claims in the Indiana Territory and thereafter is found on the 1820 and 1830 Indiana census.
Adam Wible late in life, he got into a little trouble with his church. It seems that a Campbell McCoy allegedly was drunk at a local squirrel hunt in June of 1830. The accused complained about this slanderous report to the church officials, so in December Adam and two others, who were also implicated, had to stand "trial." The session opened with a prayer and heard testimony. Adam confessed he told one person, but he did not know that was contrary to the rules of the church. He escaped with a brotherly admonition.
The person Adam told was McCoy's mother!

Send a biographical sketch of your patriot!

Patriot biographies must be the original work of the author, and work submitted must not belong to another person or group, in observance with copyright law. Patriot biographies are to be written in complete sentences, follow the established rules of grammar, syntax and punctuation, be free of typographical errors, and follow a narrative format. The narrative should unfold in a logical manner (e.g. the narrative does not jump from time period to time period) or have repeated digressions, or tell the history of the patriot's line from the patriot ancestor to the author. The thinking here is that this is a patriot biography, not a lineage report or a kinship determination project or other report published in a genealogy journal. The biography should discuss the qualifying service (military, patriotic, civil) of the patriot ancestor, where the service was rendered, whether this was a specific state or Continental service, as well as significant events (as determined by the author) of the patriot's life. This is the entire purpose of a patriot's biography.
