John Jackson Maddox, III was born in December 1763 in Goochland Co, VA, married Eleanor Aston on 17 Dec 1792 and died on 10 Jun 1844 in Ohio Co, KY.

John Jackson Maddox sever as a prison guard along the James River for four 3 month periods, going home to farm between each enlistment, on duty for the winter, went home to plant a crop, back on duty during the summer, back home for harvest in the fall, then back on duty in the winter and planting in the spring and finally back for his fourth tour of duty in the summer.
