Born in 1757 in Allegheny, Pennsylvania. He served as a Private with PA in the Revolution, in Capt. Simon Koppenhaffer's (7th) co., 3rd Bttn., York Cty., (PA) Regt., of Col. Richard McAllister; and, Brig Gen. James Ewing's Bgde. He married Mary Magdalene Kohler (1761-1836) on September 3, 1780: children: Henry & John. He died May 10, 1832 in Troy Township, Athens County, OH and was buried at Hockenport Cemetery, Athens County, OH. Patriot biographies are to be written in complete sentences, follow the established rules of grammar, syntax and punctuation, be free of typographical errors, and follow a narrative format. The biography should discuss the qualifying service (military, patriotic, civil) of the patriot ancestor, where the service was rendered, whether this was a specific state or Continental service, as well as significant events (as determined by the author) of the patriot's life. This is the entire purpose of a patriot's biography.
