Directions to Cemetery / Gravesite:

Cemetery on PRIVATE PROPERTY - There is a dirt/gravel road south off Parkwood School Road. Limited and unsafe parking on either side of Parkwood School Road and limited space at the gated entrance. Walk passed the gate (No fence), turn left and walk west down the power line cut for approximately 200 feet.  The cemetery will be on right about 30' up a slight incline in the woods. Step through the entrance gate and the grave site is 30' to left front.

John Walker was born about 1727 in Ulster, Ireland to John Rutherford Walker and his wife, Anne Houston. He came to America sometime before 1750, making his way to Mecklenburg County, NC.

John married Elizabeth Boyd in 1755. They had four sons, John Adam Walker, Andrew, Robert and Thomas. He had three daughters, Nancy, Jean and Marcy

John serves as a Grand Juror in Mecklenburg County, NC during the Revolutionary War.

John resided in Mecklenburg County, North Carolina until his death after 08 May 1804. His children are named in his will.
