Author: James Hollis Taylor, Jr.
John Warner was born in CT on 27 Oct 1739. He married Hannah Westover and had one daughter Lucina. At the time of the Revolution he enlisted in 1778 and served initially as a private in General David Waterbury’s State Regiment, Captain Charles Smith’s Company from 1778-1780. He was then commissioned as an Ensign then Lieutenant of the 5th Company, 2nd Regiment, CT Militia. On 1 Aug 1781 in was promoted to Captain in the 2nd Regiment. He is buried in the Gallows Hill Burying Ground, New Milford, CT.
