Johann Michael Hollenbach, aka: Michael Hollenbach, was born August 2, 1734 in Uengershausen, Germany, the son of Johann George & Johanna Dorothea “Anna” (Bos) Hollenbach. Michael arrived with his parents, along with his brother Nicholas at Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on September 24, 1753 on the ship Neptune. Michael’s father settled in Northampton County (now Lehigh County), PA. Michael’s marriage to Eva Margaretha Gacken (1737-1787) on October 17, 1758 can be found in the records of St. Paul’s Church “Six Cornered Church” near Red Hill, Montgomery County, PA. ` Michael Hollenbach was the father of six children: Barbara, Johann Nicholas, Christian, J. Michael, Johann George and Heinrich. He was farmer his entire life and died April 1, 1813 at his homestead in Windsor Twp., Berks County, PA. He is buried at the Zion’s Windsor Castle Church Cemetery, Windsor Twp., (now Perry Twp.) Berks County, PA. ` During the Revolutionary War Michael served as a private in Captain Will’s Company, Berks County, Pennsylvania Militia. He also took the Oath of Allegiance to the state of Pennsylvania on May 27, 1778 in Berks County, PA.
