Jacob Dundore was born July 25, 1720 in Brunswick, Germany. He arrived in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, October 12, 1741 on the ship Friendship. He settled in the Tulpehocken area of Lancaster Co. Pennsylvania, in what is now Bern Twp., Berks County, PA. He married about 1745 to Anna Maria ****.

He was the father of eight children: John Christian, Susanna, Maria Catharine, John, Catherine Elizabeth, Michael, John Jacob and David. Jacob had a farm along the Tulpehocken creek in Bern Twp., Berks County, PA, near what is today the village of Mt. Pleasant. He was a farmer his entire life.

He died at his homestead May 12, 1789. He, along with his wife, is buried in the Bern Church Graveyard, Bern Twp., Berks County, PA.

Jacob Dundore paid the Supply Tax to the state of Pennsylvania in Bern Twp., Berks County, PA in 1779 to raise supplies for the war.
