Author: Bob Erivn
William Wood was born 03 April 1737 in Eastern Shore, Maryland to Edward Wood and Elizabeth Veal.
He married Martha Kendrick on 28 May 1764. They moved to Randolph County, North Carolina prior to the Revolutionary War.

They raised three sons: Burrell, Jones and William Jr; and five daughters: Penuel, Betsy, Patsy, Dorcas, Elizabeth.

William served as a Captain in the American Revolution from Randolph County, NC in the North Carolina Militia.

William died on 26 April 1804 in Randolph County, North Carolina.
