Author: William Terrell Siler
James “Old Neigh” Withers was born in Stafford County, Virginia in 1716 and was the son of James, Sr. and Elizabeth Keene.

He furnished beef to the Army in Fauquier County, Virginia as his Patriotic Service.

He was married twice, first to Catherine Barbee and second to Jemima Gardner. Children of these unions included: John, Hannah, Elizabeth, James, Bridgett, William, and George Washington.

James died in 1784 in Fauquier County, Virginia.
