Author: Michael J. Blum
Born in 1757 in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania. He enlisted in early 1776 and served as a Private in the 1st Regiment, Pennsylvania, under Sergeant John Ware, Sr., from January 1777 to 1781. He served under General Washington until the close of the war.
He Died on June 16, 1838, at the age of 81. Buried in Pleasant Ridge Presbyterian Cemetery, Section G, Grave 11. DAR marker.

He came to Hamilton County, Ohio, and settled near Carthage (Longview Hospital, near Carthage, was built on his farm). He was a leader in the Town of Pleasant ridge, was a founder of Pleasant Ridge Church and was on the Board of Elders. In 1815 he Mar his first wife, Anna Long, and his second wife was Sarah ?..In 1826 he moved to Montgomery, Hamilton County, where he Died on June 16, 1838, at the age of 81.
