Author: Dr. Michael Bernard Gunn
Born on February 7, 1755 in Massachusetts. He was a member of the Boston Tea Party (while being a printers· apprentice at the age of 18) and served an adjutant to General John Sullivan in the MA Militia during the War. He married 1) Lucy Douglas, 2) Mary Chartwell; children: Catherine C. b. 1797. Nathaniel lived and farmed in Paxton Township, Ross County, OH Nathaniel was the founder of the Scioto Gazette, the forerunner of the Chillicothe Gazette Newspaper. He died on April 1, 1831 and buried on the border of Pike & Ross Counties. An original old stone marks Nathaniels burial site on State Route 41 in Pike County, just south of Bainbridge, Ross County, OH. Note the inscription "Revolutionist of 1776" on the original tombstone. A memorial stone for Nathaniel has been also placed in the in the Bainbridge Cemetery 45612. Patriot biographies are to be written in complete sentences, follow the established rules of grammar, syntax and punctuation, be free of typographical errors, and follow a narrative format. This is the entire purpose of a patriot's biography.
