Author: Edwin Dudley Burwell III

John Whitaker, II, married Olive Taylor.  Their known children were:  Edward, Peggy, Olive, Hudson, Thomas, Samuel and Martha. 

During the Revolutionary War, John was a Justice of the Peace, a member of the General Assembly, and served on the Committee of Public Account, and provided supplies.

John Whitaker's Last Will and Testament, of record at Will Book 3, Page 57 at Halifax County, North Carolina, evidences he was a farmer.  His Will was probated by the Court during the February 1784 Term.
