Author: Christopher Willard Moberg

Joseph Whipple was born in 1734.  He married Sarah Mawney, October 5, 1752, at East Greenwich, Rhode Island.  During the Revolutionary War, he was a sergeant in the First Division of Captain Squire Millerd’s Company of Colonel Waterman's Regiment.  He died January 6, 1816, and was buried at the North Burial Ground at Providence, Rhode Island.  Sarah Mawney Whipple died April 20, 1820 and was buried beside her husband.
