Jonathan Whipple was born 28 March 1752, the son of Edward Whipple and Sarah Green Whiple. Jonathan Whipple, married . Hannah Rice, 3 June 1777, in Westborough, and they moved to NH about 1777.

He served in the Rev.War serving at the Battle of Saratoga. .

Hannah Rice was the daughter of patriot Edmund Rice. His daughter Hannah Rice married Josiah Rogers son of patriot John Rogers.


According to the book Colonial Gravestone, he died. 29 March 1839 in the old Lyme Cemetery inLyme, Grafton, New Hampshire, living to 89 years of age, dying one day after his final birthday..
