Benjamin Weber was my first Patriot and I acquired my Sons of the American Revolution using his ancestry. His father, Christian Webber, arrived in Philadelphia on the ship James Goodwill, William D Goodwill, Master and subscribed to the oath of allegiance, September 30, 1727. They came from Germany via Rotterdam. Christian wife’s name was Apollonia and was also on the ship with him.
In 1728, he purchased a farm on the West side of the present turnpike, adjoining the Gwynedd township line, in Philadelphia County later to become Montgomery County in 1784. They built a stone house here in 1737, which is still standing. He was naturalized on August 3, 1734. He was born on in 1696 and died on January 8, 1778 in Towamencin Township at the age of 82 years. His wife was born in 1703 and died on June 15, 1773. They had four sons- Benjamin, Nicholas Jacob, and Christian.
Benjamin Weber was born on 05 Jun 1747 in Gwynedd, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA. He died on 11 Feb 1816 in Worcester, Montgomery, Pennsylvania, USA. He married Maria (Mary) Barbara Fisher, daughter of Peter Fisher and Mary Ann Unknown, on 06 Dec 1768 in Colebrookdale, Philadelphia Co., Pennsylvania (St. Gabriel's Episcopal Church). She was born on 30 Aug 1750 in Oley, Philadelphia Co., Pennsylvania. She died on 30 Aug 1815 in Skippack, Montgomery, Pennsylvania, USA.
Benjamin Weber was a Private in the Philadelphia County Militia. He also paid supply tax that supported the Revolutionary War effort.
Last Will and Testament of Benjamin Weber Proven 22nd February 1816 Probate granted Registered in Will Book Number 4 Page 198 His estate was worth over $11,000 in 1816.
Tombstone In Memory of Benjamin Weber who was born the 5th day of June AD 1747 and departed this life the 14th day of February 1816 Aged 68 years 8 months & 9 days
