Author: Marcus David Byers Jr

James Watkins, Sr., was born February 5, 1728, at Virginia, a son of William Watkins.  James Watkins married Martha Thompson, a daughter of Robert Thompson.  They were the parents of nine children. 

During the American Revolution, Watkins furnished supplies to support the patriots.

The family moved to Georgia, where they were devoted members of the Baptist Church.
