Author: Michael B. Gunn
Born in Talbot Co., Maryland, on March 21, 1761. He Enlisted in 5th Maryland Continental under Captain Lavin Handy’s Company, Colonel William Richardson May 7, 1778, Taken prisoner Feb 10, 1781. Pensioned May 12, 1820, as a Private in MD Continental under General Morgan. He married Anna Macy (1757-1815); children: 5 including Jacob. He Died on June 23, 1833, Columbus and Buried at Greenlawn Cemetery, Plot Section C near the road, 1000 Greenlawn Avenue, Columbus, Franklin Co., OH 43223. MI : "William Walcutt. Soldier of the American Revolutionary, took part in the battles of Stony Point, was at Valley Forge and the surrender of Cornwallis at Yorktown." GM Revolutionary Grave Committee with bronze marker. May 30, 1912. After the war, William began to move westward. In Fairfax County, VA, on March 2, 1786, he married a widow named Anna Gooden whose maiden name was Macy. Moved to Ohio with his family in 1815 and settled in Franklin Co. Ref : Natl No 48093, p 45, Vol 49, D. A. R. Lin. Fur infor Columbus Chap. Lima Ohio News (Patriots of 1776). Patriot biographies must be the original work of the author, and work submitted must not belong to another person or group, in observance with copyright law. Patriot biographies are to be written in complete sentences, follow the established rules of grammar, syntax and punctuation, be free of typographical errors, and follow a narrative format. The narrative should unfold in a logical manner (e.g. the narrative does not jump from time period to time period) or have repeated digressions, or tell the history of the patriot's line from the patriot ancestor to the author. The thinking here is that this is a patriot biography, not a lineage report or a kinship determination project or other report published in a genealogy journal. The biography should discuss the qualifying service (military, patriotic, civil) of the patriot ancestor, where the service was rendered, whether this was a specific state or Continental service, as well as significant events (as determined by the author) of the patriot's life. This is the entire purpose of a patriot's biography.
