Wait Wadsworth is the son of his patriot father Captain Wait Wadsworth, Sr. (P-311490) and was born 7 Oct 1754 in Duxbury, Plymouth County, MA.
Wait, Jr. served as a private in Capt. Bildad Arnold's Company, Col. Thos. Lothrop's (Plymouth Co.) MA Militia Regiment. His company and he answered the alarm of 10 Dec 1776 and marched to Rhode Island and provided 11 days of service. Listed on Duxbury Roll.
After the war he married Priscilla Stetson (14 Sep1770- 26 Feb1858), and had two daughters: Jane Stetson (Wadsworth) Mange (1809-1894) and Caroline W. (Wadsworth) Bradford (1812-1904).
He died 11 March 1840 in Duxbury, MA, and is buried along with his wife and 2 daughters in the Mayflower Cemetery on Tremont St. in Duxbury. All their original headstones are still readable today.
