Henry Van Horn (Jr.), son of Henry (Sr) and Susanna (Van Vlecq) Van Horn, was born 02 October 1734 and reared on the old homestead purchased by his Grandfather Christian Van Horn in 1726. After the death of his father (Henry Sr.) in 1761 Henry Van Horn Jr. inherited one-half interest therein with his brother Christian. They made a division of the 252 acres, each conveying 126 acres to the other in 1773.
After the reverses, on Long Island in November 1776 and at Fort Washington, when the Continental forces were so badly routed and so many of the Bucks county contingent were taken prisoners, Henry Van Horn Jr. raised an independent company of militia and was commissioned their Captain 06 December 1776, and took them into service. He died of swamp fever late 1777.
Henry Van Horn Jr. married Elizabeth Van Sant 10 August 1758, daughter of Isaiah and Charity (Van Horn) Van Sant, and they were the parents of eight children: Joshua, born 21 Feb 1759; Isaiah, born 02 May 1760, was a drummer in his father’s Company, 1776-1777; Mary, born 05 May 1764; Christian, born 13 July 1766; Susanna, born 09 October 1768; Elizabeth b. unknown; Sarah, born 07 February 1773; Henry born 05 April 1777. Elizabeth, wife of Henry Van Horn Jr., died 25 November 1807.

Patriot biographies must be the original work of the author, and work submitted must not belong to another person or group, in observance with copyright law. Patriot biographies are to be written in complete sentences, follow the established rules of grammar, syntax and punctuation, be free of typographical errors, and follow a narrative format. The narrative should unfold in a logical manner (e.g. the narrative does not jump from time period to time period) or have repeated digressions, or tell the history of the patriot's line from the patriot ancestor to the author. The thinking here is that this is a patriot biography, not a lineage report or a kinship determination project or other report published in a genealogy journal. The biography should discuss the qualifying service (military, patriotic, civil) of the patriot ancestor, where the service was rendered, whether this was a specific state or Continental service, as well as significant events (as determined by the author) of the patriot's life. This is the entire purpose of a patriot's biography.
