Qualifying Service Description:
  1. Lt Colonel in Colonel Parsons's 6th Regt from CT, which was raised on the first call for troops Apr-May 1775; served at New London and Boston
  2. Colonel of a regt reorganized for service in 1776 and served around NY
  3. Colonel of 8th Regt from CT in Oct 1776
  4. Appointed brigadier general of CT militia May 1777; appointed commander of the 3rd Brigade June 1777; served in Rhode Island in Aug 1778 and in state alarms throughout the war, including New Haven on 5 Jul 1779
  5. Appointed to serve the United States under General Washington Oct 1779 and sent to Boston with the 1st Brigade

Patriot biographies must be the original work of the author, and work submitted must not belong to another person or group, in observance with copyright law. Patriot biographies are to be written in complete sentences, follow the established rules of grammar, syntax and punctuation, be free of typographical errors, and follow a narrative format. The narrative should unfold in a logical manner (e.g. the narrative does not jump from time period to time period) or have repeated digressions, or tell the history of the patriot's line from the patriot ancestor to the author.
