Author: Frank Horton
William Tolson, from Stafford Co, VA was born on 9 Jan 1760.

He served for three months in Captains Mountjoy's Regiment, Col James Garrard's VA Regiment in he fall of 1776. In the spring of 1778, he enlisted and served about 8 weeks in Cap George Burris's Company, Col Phillip's VA Regiment.

In the summer of 1781, he was engaged for 5 or 6 weeks making a military road from Prince William to the Rappahannock River for the Continental Army.

William died on 31 Aug 1844 in Howard County, Missouri.
