Born in Essex County, New Jersey, in 1741 and Mar Rebecca Stratton on June 4, 1767, in Morristown, N.J. He served fr Morris and Essex Co, N. J., p 785, "Strykers Men fr New Jersey." Came early to Cincinnati. Was one of founders of 1st Presbyterian Church. Settled on farm near Pleasant Ridge. Jonathan died in 1815 and buried at the Presbyterian Churchyard in Lebanon, 528 W. Main Street, Lebanon, OH 45036; now an automobile dealership The cemetery is a city block bounded by Main Street, West Street, Mulberry Street, and Harrison Street within the city of Lebanon. Although the cemetery is now a single entity, the north half was originally the Baptist Graveyard and was known as the Old Baptist Graveyard. The south half was the Methodist Cemetery and, likewise, was known as the Old Methodist Graveyard. The Old Baptist Graveyard began about 1811 when the Baptist church moved their church from a site east of Lebanon to a lot in the western part of town. The churchyard was used as a burying ground. The Old Methodist Graveyard did not come into use until 1820.; . A grandson found his name misspelled on his commission in Civil War, so his branch has since spelled "Teachinor." Patriot biographies must be the original work of the author, and work submitted must not belong to another person or group, in observance with copyright law. Patriot biographies are to be written in complete sentences, follow the established rules of grammar, syntax and punctuation, be free of typographical errors, and follow a narrative format. The narrative should unfold in a logical manner (e.g. the narrative does not jump from time period to time period) or have repeated digressions, or tell the history of the patriot's line from the patriot ancestor to the author. The thinking here is that this is a patriot biography, not a lineage report or a kinship determination project or other report published in a genealogy journal. The biography should discuss the qualifying service (military, patriotic, civil) of the patriot ancestor, where the service was rendered, whether this was a specific state or Continental service, as well as significant events (as determined by the author) of the patriot's life. This is the entire purpose of a patriot's biography.
