William Thurston was born ca. 1740 in England and died 1817 in Goochland Co., VA. He married Jennie Jones born 12 Sept. 1763. Jennie died in 1795. They had the following children.

He served in the State of Virginia as a soldier and a Drummer and Fifer under Cols. Ball, Mathew and Parker. He also provided supplies in support of the American Revolution.
