Charles Thrift II was born in 1753 in Fairfax County, VA the son of Charles Thrift Sr. and Rebekah Hamilton. He married Elizabeth Offutt on October 22, 1778 in Montgomery County, MD. During the American Revolution he served as a Private in the 4th, 8th, and 12th Virginia Regiments under Captain Jonathan Langdon, Colonel James Wood, and Major Jonathan Clark. He died August 13, 1826 in Hopkinsville, Christian County, KY.
