Tatum, Richard, Sr. (b. 1728, Halifax, NC; d. August 1790, Sampson County, NC) Married in 1755 in Halifax, NC to Susanna Trotter (b. 1734 Halifax, NC) Richard received two (2) Land Grants from the Earl of Granville: 1 on April 3, 1761 for 700 Acres, and 1 on April 19, 1761 for 649 Acres in Halifax County, NC.
According to the Sampson County Court Minutes 1784-1800, Richard’s actions were recorded: Pg17 for Road Work Pg29 for Tax Exemption Pg72 appointed Juror Pg75 Deed Pg91 appointed as Overseer for River Construction Work
