  2. Third Lieutenant in the Charleston Battalion of Artillery commanded by Captain Thomas Heyward (1779 - 1780)
  3. First Lieutenant in Colonel Henderson's South Carolina Regiment commanded by Captain Thomas Heyward (December 10, 1781)
  4. Took part in the Battle of Fort Moultrie (June 28, 1776), Battle of Stono Ferry (June 20, 1779), Battle of Guilford Court House (March 15, 1781), Battle of Eutaw Springs (September 7, 1781)
  5. Captured in the surrender of Charleston, Prisoner of War (May 12, 1780 - May 1781)
  6. Member of the House of Representatives for Charleston
  7. Charleston District Sheriff (February 26, 1782)

Patriot biographies must be the original work of the author, and work submitted must not belong to another person or group, in observance with copyright law. Patriot biographies are to be written in complete sentences, follow the established rules of grammar, syntax and punctuation, be free of typographical errors, and follow a narrative format. The narrative should unfold in a logical manner (e.g. the narrative does not jump from time period to time period) or have repeated digressions, or tell the history of the patriot's line from the patriot ancestor to the author.
