Born in 1763 in New Jersey, Jacob Springer served from Bergen County in the New Jersey Militia, 1st Battalion, 1st New Jersey Regiment under Captain William Platt and Colonel Matthias Ogden. He married Catherine Welch; children: Susanna b. 1801, Jacob b. 1805 and Humphrey b. 1807. He was pensioned, having applied on May 2, 1818 in Washington County, Ohio (Ref# S40488). He received an annual allowance of $96.00. He died at 63 years of age on August 9, 1830 in Washington County, Ohio. His name is listed with the Revolutionary War Patriots on a plaque in Mound Cemetery, at 5th & Scammel Streets, in Marietta, Washington County, Ohio.

Patriot biographies are to be written in complete sentences, follow the established rules of grammar, syntax and punctuation, be free of typographical errors, and follow a narrative format.
