The son of Timothy and Lois (Hill) Spencer
Private in Captain Seth Morton's Regiment, under the command of Col. Stephen Peabody in New Hampshire, Revolutionary War.

Abstracts of Rev. War Pension Files, Page 3264, states: "Daniel, NH & VT line, S29474, appl 28 Jul 1835, Windsor Co. VT aged 73, sol lived at Springfield VT at enl & in 1788 he moved to Hinesburgh VT for 9 yrs then moved to Lower Canada for 17 yrs then moved to Lisbon NY for 3 yrs then went to Upper Canada then moved to NY then returned to Springfield VT his native home as he was b there 23 Jun 1762. On 10 May 1841 sol had moved to Monroe Co. NY to be with a daughter who lived near Rochester NY. He then stated all his children had left VT, on Abigail Sartell of Springfield VT made aff'dt 7 Jul 1835 & stated she knew sol since she was a child & she referred to 2 of his children; Permillia & Daniel Spencer & she also referred to her own brother Antony Shelden."

!MILITARY: Copy of Revolutionary War Record sent by James Spencer of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, states: "I hereby Certify that the following is a correct transcript from the records in this office regarding the following soldier who served in the REV, WAR (1775-1783) Daniel Spencer A pay roll of Capt. Thomas Sawyer's Company of Militia, raised for the defense of the Northern Frontiers of the United States, June 29, 1779. Entered June 20 Discharged Aug 20 In Service 2 mos. 2 days Pr. Month 2 Travel out 30 Miles: 5 Total: 4. 7.8 Dated 20 March 1989

!Affidavit of Helen Lucille North dated 12 November 1982 (copy in possession of Kenneth D. Roberts) states: " I, Helen Lucille North, of Brown City, Lapeer County, Michigan, do hereby affirm that the following information was found in, and copied from, the Smith Family Bible. The Bible has since been lost, but the information is true, to the best of my knowledge.
Children of Daniel and Maria Spencer Theda James Milly Alma, b 20 May, 1794, VT., m 31 Dec., 1810, Luke Perkins Daniel Jr., b ca 1796, m Mary Perkins Norman, b ca 1798, Lower Canada, m Ruth Huntley Cyrus, b 7 March 1800, VT., m Polly Huntley Timothy, b ca 1807, Canada, m Emaline Martin ... I Helen Lucille North, of said place and residence, do further affirm that said Bible record copy is in the personal files of the undersigned.
Witness my hand this 12 day of November, 1982"

Patriot biographies must be the original work of the author, and work submitted must not belong to another person or group, in observance with copyright law. Patriot biographies are to be written in complete sentences, follow the established rules of grammar, syntax and punctuation, be free of typographical errors, and follow a narrative format.
